I guess I should have waited a bit...
Turns out Angelique married Francois Robinson in 1848.
That means Jacque Ward died earlier than I thought...

Re: JOHN NORQUAY (1810-1849)
Slightly off-topic but... After several years, I've returned to investigating Nancy Norquay (Ward)'s mother: Angelique Ward (Bruyere) and it's still a bit of an issue. For starters, Angelique married Jacque John Ward, becoming Angelique Ward Their son John married a woman named Angelique - also Ange...

Re: ASHAM
Are you a descendant of James? I just started checking into my mother's line recently (after reading a book on mitochondrial DNA) and discovered that she's descended from Francoise Snake-Serpent (1787-1852) and Jean Baptiste Bruyere (1772-1841), over in St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba. Re: JAMES OMAND (1798-1850)
Thanks for the link. I believe you're right about the Joseph Brown being the father of Jane Brown. Now there's a whole new line of descendancy to follow.

Re: JAMES OMAND (1798-1850)
Good morning Gary, In your bio of James Omand, you write that his wife, Jane Brown, was the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph Brown (the schooner master). R. Leslie Taylor, in his book The Native Link , suspects that Jane Brown was the country-wife of William Brown (d. 1827) who returned to Scotland ...
