Re: LOUIS BELLEGARDE (1829-1906)
Thanks Gary
This brings up so many questions for me.
Like I wonder what happened to Eliza, do you think she died by the Sioux? I wonder why some kids still went by the last name of Bellegarde and where did my ancestor Thomas Henry come from.
Do you think the DNA testing will help solve this?

Re: LOUIS BELLEGARDE (1829-1906)
Hey Gary
I found this person on Ancestry.ca so I don't know how reliable it is but I have a Birthdate for Avila Bellegarde as Dec 14 1872
It's so confusing sometimes because everyone seemed to use the same names and there are so many SR and JR's LOL
Thanks

Re: CHARLES KING DESMARAIS (1808-1885)
Hello Gary
So do you think that Eliza is actually Charles King Daughter and not Jean Batsispte Daughter?
So all my descents would be under Charles King than
Do you think that make more sense?
Thank you,
Cassandra

Re: JEAN BAPTISTE SPENCE (1812-1889)
Hello Gary I was just reading on this and I found this comment On July 21, 1884 the Sandy Bay Reserve had its very first elections. Mr. Francois DEMARAIS wins and is the first elected Chief. Baptiste SPENCE (the Elder) and Wah-sah-hook (WICHEWASK – Jean Baptiste SPENCE JR) win for the councilor posi...

Re: HENRY THOMAS DESMARAIS (1861-1942)
Hello Gary
I was looking into it apparently he was married the first time (question who is Martha)
I found that Peter married Rita quite late in life (30 year difference between them) and that Peter had my great uncle when he was like 70.
Anyways I am talking to them now and asking questions!
