Re: ALEXANDER GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1873-1944)

Hi Gary

Joan Johnston nee Affolter, wife of Peter Johnston, Adele Mackay nee Affolter, and Betty Hansen nee Affolter are all Marjorie's daughters and have no connection to the Johnstones. I would be aware if the relationship existed. Sorry to disappoint you, but this Rick Hansen is a plumber.

They are trying to get a response to ten year old forum entries. I wouldn't touch that site again with a ten foot pole

Re: WILLIAM HUGH McLEOD (1888-1953)

I stand corrected on Joseph Milyon Dobie's WW I record. Because of the age issue I never checked it out. His Discharge Certificate shows him enlisting May 17, 1916, with the 210th Btn of CFC and being discharged on demobilisation Feb 20,1919 at age 34 with 18 months served in France. The age figure ...

Re: WILLIAM HUGH McLEOD (1888-1953)

However I ...

Re: ALEXANDER GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1873-1944)

Gary asked: "Somewhere in my searches I recall finding an Angus Graham McLEOD who had some kind of a connection to the JOHNSTONE family. Perhaps that was your Uncle who you say married Margaret FLOCK. Can you tell me more about them?" Other than the McLeod stuff, the only info I have about...

Re: WILLIAM HUGH McLEOD (1888-1953)

Hi Gary

intro to Billy McLeod's page quote "Inspiration for this page came from Billy’s great grandson, Ross McLEOD,". I don't know if I'm all that great but I am only Billy's grandson.
Also I believe Archie's father in law was Joseph Milton Dobie.

Re: ALEXANDER GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1873-1944)

Hi Gary The children of ALEXANDER GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1873-1944) that resided in Selkirk are my aunts and uncles and their children - the Johnstone sisters and Walter and Mamie's family for instance - are my cousins. The problem is I don't know how we are related. I have been living up north for about...

Re: MAPLETON SCHOOLS

Gary: Perhaps Mrs. Kristin Smith should get more credit for her work at Mapleton School. Anyone who spends a couple of hours a day riding busses from her warm house in Winnipeg (I beleive the Fort Rouge area) to and from a little two room school with an outhouse for plumbing and a wind-up Victrola f...
