Re: Matthew Truthwaite
Son Edward was baptized in London on Nov 12, 1792. I presume he was taken there to be educated, and since his father died soon later, he probably remained in England thereafter. I wasn't aware that he had a brother, but HBC Archives indicate that Matthew had a sister named Hannah KIPLING. Where did ...

WILLIAM SINCLAIR (1856-1924)
Louanne wrote in the Fidler Forum: William had siblings named Joseph, Pierre, James Jr., Marie, Margurite, Christine and an Unknown. After doing some number crunching according to 1955 Archives doc. I got the number for Elizabeths birthdate. In that same document, it shows that she was 12 years youn...

Re: Elizabeth 'Betsy' Sinclair 1868
Welcome aboard Louanne! At this point I cannot be certain, but it looks like Betsy may have been a daughter of Sophie CADOTTE & Philip THOMAS (b-c1841) who lived in the St Peters Reserve. Just by coincidence I am currently working on the descendants of NAHOVWAY & William SINCLAIR (1766-1818)...

Re: George Spence
A few years back I exchanged Emails with Allen Lawrence LAVOIE , son of Lawrence LAVOIE who was probably your mother’s uncle. I have a fair amount of info on the LAVOIE family that I received from him. Unfortunately, I lost the emails that he sent me (as well as some pictures). It looks like I’m not...

Re: George Spence
I have James SPENCE (1753-1795) (not George) with TOMINSON at Buckingham House during 1792-1795 (from HBC Archives). Go to my Ancestors page, on the list there click on James SPENCE to see what I have.
I'm interested in your own lineage back to George. Could you provide that?

Re: PRUDEN - BALSILLIE - FLETT
If you click on ‘ Descendants ’ at the top of this page you will find PRUDEN, John Edward in the listing there. Click on that and you will see that John Edward b-1839 (who married Mary ISBISTER) was the son of Josephte JOLICOEUR & Peter PRUDEN (1807-1889). Edward had about 11 siblings (children ...

Re: PRUDEN - BALSILLIE - FLETT
Ann FLETT was born Jan 26, 1844 in St Paul Parish, daughter of Euphemia HALCROW & Peter FLETT (1812-c1905). Around 1860 Annie began a relationship with John BALSILLIE who you already know about. My information seems to indicate that Annie and John BALSILLIE parted ways. John remarried in 1867 to...

PRUDEN - BALSILLIE
Thanks very much for that information Beth!
I have made those corrections on the J.E. PRUDEN web page. Are you a descendant of one of those families?

JOSEPH HENRY PRUDEN (1893-1955)
