Re: WILLIAM IRVINE (1843-1918)

Hello Gary, do you have a means of sending/receiving private messages? I do not have any more information about William Irvine "B"'s parents, but an as-yet-unmet 2nd cousin who found me through Wikitree, may have some. She added their names on that site and she is willing to correspond wit...

Re: WILLIAM IRVINE (1843-1918)

Thank you to Gary for creating this page! I think it may be helpful to add "B" to William Irvine's name, as that is how the Hudson's Bay Co. identified him in order to differentiate him from another William Irvine who was also employed at HBC at the same time. William himself often added t...

Re: JAMES MONKMAN (1775-1865)

Thank you for setting up this page. I am keeping the family name of Monkman for James in my Ancestry.ca records, as my 2x great-grandfather was known as James Monkman 3 in the Gerrond family, from whom I am descended through his daughter, Mary Jane Monkman, but I will add aka Ducharme. I am very int...

Re: JAMES MONKMAN (1775-1865)

Sorry Gary, you did ask for place names as well as dates. John Gerrond's father was James Gerrond, born 18 May 1860 in Goderich, Huron, Canada West (Ontario). He moved to Saskatchewan sometime in the 1880s and is listed in the 1891 Census of Canada as a resident of Red Deer Hill, Saskatchewan. He di...

Re: JAMES MONKMAN (1775-1865)

Hello Gary, I am the daughter of Olive Jacqueline Gerrond (1922-2012), the daughter of John Gerrond (1888-1959), the son of Mary Jane Monkman (1878-1908), the daughter of James Monkman 3 (1843-1933), who was the illegitimate (?) son of Jane [Jenny] Monkman (18225-1908) and Pierre Ducharme. Jenny was...

Re: JAMES MONKMAN (1775-1865)

Jane (Jenny) Monkman (1822-1908), the daughter of James and Mary (Muskegon) Monkman, is my 3x great-grandmother by Pierre Ducharme. His name and possible birth date (1815) are all I know about Pierre Ducharme. Does anyone have any other information about him? Thank you.
