Hi, for family of Moise Fontaine it says "In 1893 son Charles married Therese CHARBONNEAU, daughter of Victoria VANDAL & Jean Baptiste CHARBONNEAU (born c1842)."
I have Therese Charbonneau as the child of Jean Baptiste Charbonneau and Esther Girard (parents are Joseph Girard and Matguerite Jackson).
This came from geneology done by St. Boniface Historical Society. Were they wrong?
Thanks...

Sorry Koz, it’s been a few years since I researched this family and I can’t seem to find my source regarding Therese’s parents. I may have made an error.
Can you tell me more about Marguerite JACKSON and Joseph GIRARD (when, where they were born)?
Do you have a link to that St Boniface Historical Society?
Do you have family connections to these people?

I don't know the birth places but Joseph Girard died September 23, 1875 and Marguerite Jackson died Feb. 25, 1881.

Many of Esther Girards siblings had scrip.

I don't have a link that shows any specific ancestor history as they had prepared a basic genealogy for proof of Metis. But paper copy only.

Yes, I have family connections. My maternal grandparents were Ellene Fontaine (born to Charles Fontaine & Therese Charbonneau; and was the granddaughter of Moise Fontaine) and Charles Munro Gordon (his maternal grandparents were William Corston and Margaret McKay-daughter of William Mckay and Mary Bunn).
My paternal grandfather was Gordon Norman Morrison (his paternal grandparents were Norman Morrison-born from Angus Morrison and Nancy Anne Cunningham; and Charlotte Smith-born from William Robert Smith and Marie Ann Swain)

Those are very interesting lineages Koz. I’m able to trace most of them quite easily from the information I have.

I am a little confused with the MORRISON line. When and where was Gordon Norman MORRISON born and who were his parents?

Gordon Norman Morrison was born in Spears, SK on Jan. 18, 1917. His parents were Benjamin Edward Morrison born Oct. 20, 1885 in RM Carlton, MB and Florence "Florrie" Stone born in 1893 or 1896 in England.
Apparently Benjamin's uncle, John Black Morrison, was in prison with and witnessed the execution of Thomas Scott.

I have found your website to be fantastic and would thank to donate what I can. Hope every bit helps...

Thanks very much for the donation Ross! I look forward to exploring your ancestors and will start with Angus MORRISON (1819-1875) which I hope to be able to post sometime tomorrow.
