Though it states in here that Alverado was a son, He was not, he was in fact the son of DAISY MARY ELIZABETH SMITH. In Sam Smith Obituary it doesn't state Alverado as a son. IT just states 5 remaining children. As James had died in the war. Leslie Smith Sessieloubob@hotmail.com

Ahah! You must be Roy SMITH’s daughter! I went to school with Roy. I knew the family very well – your aunts & uncles Doris, Jimmy and Audrey (Zamolski), etc.

That is indeed interesting Leslie! However, it does conflict with numerous other references to Angelique as daughter of Michel CHALIFOUX.
I would be grateful to see the Manitoba Archives version. You could send as an Email attachment. Thanks.

Yes I'm Roys Daughter I will scan the documents I have from the Manitoba Archive and sent them when I have free time later. But I also have some other info on that -In the book "Metis Family" a Genealogical Compedium", ISBN 1-886560-00-5m written by Gail Morin, published 1996 by Quintin Publications Pawtucket Rhode Island Volumn 1, page 195 The entire section reads as follows:
Joseph Cahlifoux m a daughter of Alexander Henry.

1. Julie Chalifoux, b 1804 m William McKay, son of Donald "Mad" and Miss Sutherland
II Angelique Chalifoux B c 1808 M Hugh Gibson

Also in a "Her 100th Christmas" written by Elsie McKay when she interviewed Sophia Anderson - "Grandmother's sister was married to Frances Hearne, a brother to Sir Samuel Hearne, a brother to Ireland twice and told us all about her trips when she visited at our home."

Angelique Chalifoux married Hugh Gibson, who had Isabella Gibson who married James Bird, who had Sophia Bird, who had Harry, who had my grandmother.
