Re: SAMUEL STEVENSON (1855-1914)
Just a few updates. Samuel's Father Peter,was born 1830(not 1843).
Samuel was married first to Sarah Bear, daughter of John Bear, on Feb. 5, 1874 @ St. Peter's Reserve. John Bear was deceased at the time. Sarah was born about 1857, died April 8, 1875. Their child, Mary baptized Dec. 9, 1874, then died in 1875. Samuel then married Rachel West on April 23, 1881. Rachel baptized Oct. 20, 1861 & Samuel baptized Jan. 17, 1855.
Thanks, Merrily

Adding to the Family page: McClure was born 1900, Samuel Jr. was born Dec. 12, 1889, died May 5, 1907, & Violet was "adopted" in to the family. Her birth name was Freeman. If I find any more about her, will let you know.

Re: SAMUEL STEVENSON (1855-1914)
Samuel & Rachel's son, Walter was my Dad. Sorry, but I should have told you that Samuel & Rachel had 11 children in total (counting Violet), but the others died as infants or as young children. I have all the names & dates. My Dad is the only one who had natural children. Have been doing the family history for years, but cannot find anything much about Samuel's Father, Peter Stevenson, other than the 1870 census which says his name was William. The same for his Mother, Margaret Ballendine which says her Father was William also. I am at a dead end there, unless someone else knows something.
Thank you.

Re: SAMUEL STEVENSON (1855-1914)
Thanks for that Merrily. I have added a paragraph to Samuel’s Page regarding his marriage to your mother, Gertrude WHITTINGHAM. Check his Page again to see if I have it right.
Regarding Peter STEVENSON: I do have quite a bit of information about him as well and might do a page for him when I find the time to do a little further research. However, I am pretty busy with other genealogy stuff these days and it isn’t one of my priorities right now.

Re: SAMUEL STEVENSON (1855-1914)
HI Folks, Thank you All for allowing me to join this group, i have used so many of the profiles of ancestors to stretch my family tree, thank you so so much, however i am at a loss when it comes to one of Samuels brothers, James b 1871 d 1849, i hoping to find out who his second wife was, in the 1916 Canadian census it states he is married to a Mary (Maria) possible Tudoruk. MY grand mother was born into this family and am unable to make the link. I have found several obituaries mentioning the name James Stevenson, apparently he had 12 to 13 kids in all. 2 of which belonged to Christie-Bella Sinclair, i also have a file thet states my granmothers parent where James Stevenson and Mary Tudrick. Please help, if you can please send any information to jc_briere@yahoo.com

Welcome to the Forum JC:
I just checked that 1916 record. It doesn’t mention any wife, just his two children, Alfred (age 13) and Victoria (age 10). His wife Christie Bella died in 1908, so James was a widower in 1816.
When and where was your Grandmother STEVENSON born? Do you have more info about the TUDORUK family?
