Good morning everyone,

Unfortunutly, I don't have much but this is what I have for my great grandfather Joseph Cook.

Joseph (Joe) Cook 1869-1931 married in 1885? Marie Linkleter 1870-1943

Children:

Ellise Cook 1886-??? married Pierre Mareste
Louison (Louis) Cook 1887-??? married Adelaide Mareste 1890-???
Liza Cook 1890
Solomon Cook 1896-??? married Elise Benoanie
Catherine Cook 1901-1988 married in 1920 Adolphe Lapensee 1881-1961
Eugenie 1903
Charlotte 1906-2006 married 1924 Olaf Olson
Andrew 1907-???
Angelique 1912-???

I'm not even sure if I have this correct. Seem to have conflicting info with Liza vs Ellise.

I will be visiting my aunt Philomene in Brochet at the end of July and I will try to sort this out with her.
She is the oldest in Brochet at the age of 92. :)

I do have a copy of the book The Old Way North. Great Book!

Again, thank you so much for setting up these Cook webpages. :D

Regarding birth dates of children: See the children and their ages in the 1916 census in my narrative.

Regarding Elise COOK: Yes, there is much confusion about her birth date. Census 1911 has her age 11 (b-1900); census 1916 has her age 23 (b-1870), and you have her born 1886. Elise and Liza might in fact be the same person What was the source of your information?

Regarding the marriages I had missing: I will add the marriages you are showing into my narrative. I myself have no information so I will have to take your word for those.

Regarding your Website: Excellent! I won’t have time to review it for a few days, but I’m sure there are things there that can be incorporated into my pages too. I will provide your link in the narrative so other people can go there too.

Don't remember where I got this from but probably from matching people in My Heritage software.

Check this out Marc: MNC HISTORICAL ONLINE DATABASE RE JOSEPH COOK

Notice too that this Scrip indicates that Joseph also married Adelaide MERASTY! Is it possible that Joseph and Louison are one and the same?

Hmmm... Maybe his real name is Joseph Louison Cook. I will try for find documents. I'm almost 100% sure that Joseph didn't have a Joseph Jr.

If that Scrip record for Joseph Jr. is for real, it would be hard to dispute. Why would it not be; who would want to falsify such a thing?

It is certainly a common custom for people to name their first-born son after his father. Since there seems to be no further record of this Joseph after he purportedly married Adelaide, it seems very plausible that he may have died and she re-married to his brother Louison. What think?

I just posted a new Family Page that should complete the last missing link in your lineage:

WILLIAM COOK (1840-?)

I just visited your website; great bunch of pictures but hard to tell exactly who is who in some of the photos.

I found the one of Liza and Mary COOK particularly interesting. Can you tell us more about them? When they were born and who their parents were?
