Do you mean the Christina from BC that created the web site or the person of the same name who seems to be running it from Europe now? Either way - I have no idea.

Hi Gary
I am still trying to sort out Isabella Mcleod's (Born April 15,1886 at Burning Lambert, Falkirk, County of Sterling), parents. I show her father as Alexander Graham, a ships carpenter and/or captain that married Ann Blythe on February 26, 1869 in Carrondire Parish, District of Grangemouth,Scotland. Obviously, she would not be on the 1881 Census. The site at
http://tompaterson.co.uk/census.php?Dwe ... us=Larbert
shows a Ships Carpenter named Alexander Graham and Wife Ann and their 6 children counted in the 1881 Census, 12 years after the supposed wedding date of 1869.
That and the fact Billy and Isabella named their first daughter Blythe also indicates to me that these were Billy's in laws.

What is the source of your "Billy married Isabella GRAHAM in Selkirk, daughter of Isabella and Robert GRAHAM. (a ‘Pitheadman’ born c1864 in Muiravonside, Stirlingshire, Scotland)." info? And what on earth is a ‘Pitheadman’?

Scotland Census 1891: Parkhead, Parish of Muiravonside, County of Stirlingshire: Robert GRAHAM, Pitheadman, age 27 (b-1864); wife Isabella, age 29 (born c1862 in Slamannan, Stirling). Children: Isabella (age 5), Janet (3) and Agnes (6 months).

Scotland Census 1901: Main Street Sutherland’s Bdgs, Parish of Larbert, County of Stirlingshire, Scotland. Robert GRAHAM, Foundry Labourer, age 42 (born c1859 in Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire); wife Bella, age 43). Children: Janet (age 21), Robert (17), Bella (14), Annie (12) and James (age 7).

I'm guessing a pitheadman might mean a foreman or somesuch, perhaps in a pit-mine associated with the Foundry described in the next census.

Hi Gary

Just noticed on William Hugh McLeod page line 5 reads:
"On Dec 24, 1894 Billy’s father (Angus) died in Altamont, Manitou. Altamont is located NE of Morden; north of Manitou."

I believe it should read:
"Billy’s father (Angus) died Apr.26, 1947 at Selkirk, Man.(St. Clements Cemetery)".

I think it was Billy's grandfather Alexander (Born Apr 6, 1822) that died in Altamont.

Regards

Ross

Thanks Ross
I made the changes and moved his death down the page to keep things in chronological order.
Note that I've added a YouTube Video for WW I
Would you like me (with your help) to do a page for your father?

I added your picture of the old log house your father purchased at Mapleton.

Who was living in that house before your father bought it?

Hi Gary
I don't know who was in the old place before Archie bought it. Strangely, I can't remember the subject ever coming up. I sometimes wondered about it.
By the way, McLeod is misspelled in the caption of the picture showing the old place.
