Merrily posted: Margaret Ballendine, wife of Peter Stevenson, was my Great-Grandmother. She is listed as daughter of William Ballendine in the 1870 census. Then, yes, William is my Great-Great Grandfather. Do not know who his wife was. I have the official death notice of Margaret, which states only that she was born in the N.W.T., place unknown, parents unknown. In figuring out her approximate birth date, taking in all the census, her marriage & death dates, I place her at being born approximately 1835-1840. She was married 1854, & my Grandfather, Samuel born 1855.
Hope this helps. Merrily

Hello Gary, In the line where it says I have a copy of the marr. certificate, it should say, "Peter believed to have been the son of Mary Williams & Wm. Stevenson", (instead of daughter).
Also, in that regard, I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that Peter's wife is this Margaret?
Please tell me how to follow this line by your source.
Thanks, Merrily

The 1870 census shows Margaret Ballendine's Father as Wm. Ballendine. Where does it show that Margaret, born around 1835, (wife of Peter Stevenson), was born to this Wm. Ballendine & Mary Stevens?
Thanks, Merrily

Again Merrily, it was our friend (your cousin of sorts?) JC Briere who posted that relationship on Ancestry.ca.
Are you out there JC? Need your comments on this one too.

Thanks Gary!
To J.C.Briere----Gary has said that he took this info. from your page on Ancestry. Please tell me where the info. or source for the following is:
Margaret Ballendine, wife of Peter Stevenson, was born to Mary Stevens. (Her Father is shown as Wm. Ballendine, but no Mother, in the 1870 census.)
Also, that Peter Stevenson, was born to Mary Williams. (Mary was born c.1820, Peter was born c.1830.) (His Father is shown as Wm. Stevenson, but no Mother, in the 1870 census.)
As these are my Great-Grandparents, I would really appreciate where you found the info., or have a reliable source, to connect Margaret & Peter, to these two Mothers.
I would appreciate an answer from you regarding this.
Thanks, Merrily
