Thank you for this great page about my 2nd great grandfather, Samuel Ballendine! I don't believe that the George Ballendine who married Mary Parisien was the same one who married Jane (Jean) Black. I have photos of all the documents from the legal battle over Samuel Black's will and George and Jean were mentioned many times as husband and wife. They were fighting the battle together. This battle went well into the 1850's. I was just reading one document dated in 1856 and they were still married at that time.

Do you know if George Ballendine and Mary Parisien were married? I was thinking that it's possible they had a relationship while he was still married to Jane Black. There appears to be a gap between George and Jane's children....between Eliza born in 1842 and Alexander born in 1853. Mary Ballendine was born in 1845 so it's possible!
