Good morning, thank you for this information, it helped confirm some of my research. On the photograph with Mildred & Mamie etc how did you determine that it was Mary sitting in the chair? The photo that I have has the names Martha Wood, Momma, Mamie, Mildred in chair written on the back of the photo, but I was not sure if that was correct. Many thanks!
Roxanne

Welcome to the Forum Roxanne. I have ‘photo 1912 from Roxanne’ in the caption. I’m guessing that must be you, and I got it from some other website, perhaps from your blog ‘Unearthing the Past’. If so, can you suggest how I should change the caption?
I understand that you were born Roxanne PAULSON. Is that correct?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, that is me, and yes, my maiden name is Paulson. The photo we are sharing came from my grandmother Cecille May Wood's photo album and on the back it was written, "Martha Wood, Momma, Mamie, Mildred in chair". How did you identify Mildred Gertrude as standing and Mary Rachel as being in the chair. I was wondering if you had other photos, or someone else who has identified the two women in this photo. It could be that the photo was not correctly labelled in my grandmother's album. Thanks, and once again, great information on this site. Roxanne

Cant’ remember. However simply by observing their apparent ages does it not seem obvious?

Hi - thanks, I would agree that there is an age difference, however, looking at the two photos on your website, I am not sure if the person identified as "Mary Rachel (Meade)" in the shared photo we are discussing, is the same person as "Mary Meade" in the photo below on the same web page.

The photo that I have, had written on it "Martha Wood" as being one of the two adult women. I'll keep searching through my files, and maybe I'll come across another photo of Mildred and/or Martha Wood, that will help in identifying the two women in the photo. Thanks again, Roxanne
