Herbert's mother Emma died shortly after they arrived in Canada. A.W. remarried Florence Loosemoore in Sept 1913 (although I haven't been able to figure out when she came to Canada). In July of 1915, A.W. enlisted and the kids went to stay with family in England. Herbert recalled visiting his grandfather's orchard. Florence later followed them to England and stayed with her family where her and A.W.'s first son was born. A.W. was injured during the war and eventually came back to Canada to convalesce. The kids came back to Canada with Florence after the war (she may have had another kid before coming back) and she had a few other kids with A.W who were born in Canada. I've had a little difficulty tracing A.W. as his father was Thomas Garner and his mother was Hannah. There were a few Thomas Garners who also married Hannahs.

Shirley married Reg Romans son of Clarence Pickrem Romans and Elva Gladys Armstrong in 1965.

Clarence Pickrem Romans was the son of Mary Jane Pickrem and William Romans. My Uncle has also had difficulty researching where the Romans came from before they landed in Nova Scotia. I think they ended up working in Maine at some point and therefore missed getting on censuses that could fill in those details.

My username on ancestry is also jlwiebe94 if you ever want to peek at my tree.

Thanks again Jennifer. I have updated the narrative accordingly, and added the photo you sent.
I’m already aware of your tree on Ancestry. It has been the primary source for my own research on your lineage.
