Just noticed that Jane Chilsolm Bolland's date of birth is after her father's death

Yes – this needs some investigation.
It seems that daughter Mary might have also been born after his death (Nov 18, 1806 according to HBCA re her possible husband, Robert SANDERSON/SAUNDERSON).

Sarahsojouner (Sarah TAYLOR) posted May 13, 2017:
Hello
My grandparents were contacted about some money William Bolland left for his children. We were told that two daughters returned to England and then one made their way to the United States. Reading these posts, I see no mention of this. Does anyone know if two girls left for England?
Thank you,
Sarsh Taylor
My grandfather is Alfred Hodshon

Welcome aboard Sarah!
You seem to have two typos Sarah – I presume you are Sarah TAYLOR and your grandfather was Alfred HODGSON?
Please tell us more about your ancestral connections to these families.
When/ where was Alfred HODGSON born and who were his parents?
As a new registrant you should familiarize yourself with how the website works at this link:

As you will see, I have lots of TAYLOR and HODGSON families in my Index at this link:

Hello, quick note about Elizabeth Penachequay's Baptism; Factors at forts administered the Divine Office on Sundays, as per the "Moose Fort Journals" I've read (also Moose Factory, they typically "brewed small beer" on Wednesdays...). Searching the HBCA Archives online for a citation from Bolland's biographical sheet, I found that it coresponds to a collection of burials *and baptisms* as administered by the factor at Eastmain beginning in 1806. Which doesn't strike me as anomalous, given the normativity of non-Clergy administering Baptism in most historic denominations, in certain circumstances (no clergy available, deaths door, etc), particularly if the factor was given office to perform Divine Service according to Anglican practice.

Also, Sarah Taylor and I are descendants of Elizabeth and William Bolland by way of their daughter Elizabeth who married Hamlet(t) Henry Hawthorn an HBC employee. Their youngest daughter was also - unhelpfully - named Elizabeth. The mother Elizabeth Hawthorn died in childbirth in 1810, and her father took his daughter Elizabeth at a young age to England where he remained, she married a 2nd cousin (via her father) last name of Underdown, and emigrated to the U.S., where the trail ultimately picks up in Connecticut.
