My sincere thanks to Gary for adding the McAuley family. I am adopted so not quite sure how I fit in but current thinking is I am possibly descended from James McAuley 1903-1991. My paternal birth-grandmother is unknown at the time of this writing. My birth father went by the name of Louie Lee a Metis who lived in and around Victoria, BC during the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Certainly, anyone having information on Louie Lee is warmly encouraged to share information with me :)

James McAuley is the grandson of John McAuley 1836-1893 (featured as patriarch for the associated McAuley family group on this site)

Is your mother’s maiden surname THOMAS or McAULEY?
It would helpful to know more about her origins.
Are you Rachel Morgan WILLIAMS? I discovered your excellent Blog.
I do have lots of info about Daniel McAULEY (b-1874).

Hello Gary :)

Yes --- loooong story but I was born Dennis Allan Doran. My adoptive mother is Elizabeth née Thomas.

and yes that is my blog.

I only found out my paternal heritage via DNA matches with known McAuley descendants. I have such a high DNA score that we feel that James McAuley is my birth father's dad.

There is no information on whom James McAuley might have connected with in order to produce my birth father.

James did marry an English lady and created a "legitimate" lineage with her.

I hope this helps you understand a bit more, Gary :)

Thanking you again,

Rachel :)
