Question posed: Your research says around 1939 you say Catharine and Walter married. Do you have evidence of this?

Response: That is only an estimation based upon the birth of daughter Cleo on July 1, 1940. For all I know they may not have even legally married – may have been common-law.

information about the cause of David Cove's death. He was working on a farm near Warren, MB when he developed a throat abscess. In that era, patients in hospital were sedated at bedtime; however, the Doctor left an order not to sedate him because if the abscess broke and he was sedated, the poison would kill him. Unfortunately, he was sedated and perished.

There is another piece of information that could be incorporated into George Cove's entry. He was presented with the Queen Victoria medal upon discharge.

Thanks so much for your help Brenda! I have updated the narrative accordingly. My deepest sympathies to you and your family regarding your father’s passing last week.
Would you like to work with me to develop a Family Page for the next generation? - your grandparents - Catherine IRWIN with Walter and David COVE SR (1913-1936)?

Gary or Brenda: I have all the Still family and their spouses including Rev. Murray and Brenda. All I need is a father and grandfather connection for Brenda to get to George Melville. That would complete her tree. Can anyone fill in the blanks. Names, marriage dates, birth dates, death dates, etc. Would love to complete that branch. Thanks------Barry.
PS, Gary: Let me know if you would like a high school class picture (Grade XF) of my friend Johnny Still and I standing next to each other. Also have a class picture (Grade XA) of my late brother Brian and Kenny Still standing next to each other. Small world. Regards----Barry.

Catherine Pearl IRWIN (1914-1983) and David John Wesley COVE (1913-1936) were Brenda’s grandparents. Her parents are Pat WUZINSKI (living) and David John Wesley COVE (1936-2016) who died on Feb 2 this year.
Yes, I would love to have those pictures you mentioned!

Beatrice Irene Cove married Cecil Lambkin 1 Dec 1939 Souris Manitoba, farmed Belmont

David John Wesley Cove married Catherine Pearl Irwin 3 Dec 1935 Belmont Manitoba (RM Strathcona)
has issue: David 1936 - 2016
Walter Allan Cove married Catherine Pearl Irwin 2 Mar 1938 Belmont Manitoba (RM Strathcona)
had issue: Allan, Tranna
These marriages where through the Knox United Church - Belmont, David was buried through this institution also.

Cleo was born 1 Jul 1933 Belmont Manitoba (father is known to her offspring and shall remain confidential) (the incident surfaced publicly after Catherine's death and it happened while she was working as a domestic aged 18) and was raised by my grandparents from birth as a sister to Catherine's siblings. She remained with the Irwin family and moved to what was known later as Cove's Corner which was a few acres at the corner of the Irwin farm so Catherine and Walter, Cleo and David would have a place they could call home. This corner remained until Catherine and Walter with children: Cleo, David and Allan moved away. Sometime later, the corner was taken back in as part of the Irwin farm once again.

Ada and Melville became estranged. When this happened, Ada entered the workforce as a domestic or a house keeper. She worked at a few places and finally settled at the residence of a Robert Rigden b 1873 Pickering ON and died Souris MB 1960. Ada died 1959 also at Souris MB and is buried beside Robert Rigden and I believe a Charles 1930-1955, Upon investigation she was interred under Cove in a purchased 3 plot site. Charles birth mother in not known and shall remain until the freedom of information allows the discovery.
