Re: JOHN BENSON ORVIS (1844-1930) ERROR
Ann Catherine Orvis born 1878 actually married Samuel Connolly. The 1911 Census shows Samuel Connolly age 33, Anna C Connolly age 32 Ethel E Connolly age 5 and sister-in-law Lillian (Davis - error) Orvis age 15. In this census there is another error showing Johannes Johannesson as Anna's spouse and Ethel's father. He is actually a neighbour.
Maybe the second Ann Catherine Orvis born 1896 married William Thomas Cook?
Samuel Connolly and Ann Catherine Orvis were the adoptive parents of my mother Olive Rose born Sep 1, 1921.

Re: JOHN BENSON ORVIS (1844-1930)
These certainly are some puzzlers! First of all why would John Benson ORVIS name two different daughters with the exact same name?
VitalStats: William Thomas COOK married Mar 29, 1891 St Clements to Ann Catherine ORVIS. This obviously had to be the older Ann Catherine, because the younger one wasn’t even born yet/ then.

Re: JOHN BENSON ORVIS (1844-1930)
Ann Catherine Orvis was first married to Thomas Cook Mar 29 1891. The marriage didn't last long. Thomas Cook is found in later census living with his mother. I am not sure if she divorced Thomas Cook. Was she just living common-law with Samuel Connolly and assume his name? She died as Ann Catherine Connolly Dec 17, 1934.
The other Ann (twin) was Ann Elizabeth Orvis who probably died in infancy.

Re: JOHN BENSON ORVIS (1844-1930)
4. July 27, 1878 ANN CATHERINE ORVIS (m. William Thomas COOK) later (m. Samuel CONNOLLY)
And then:
"8. Aug 13, 1896 ANN CATHERINE (twin) ORVIS (m. Samuel CONNOLLY)"
Should be: 8. Aug 13, 1896 ANN Elizabeth (twin) ORVIS , died in infancy
And then:

Should be: 8. Aug 13, 1896 ANN Elizabeth (twin) ORVIS , died in infancy
