Oluff was my father's grandfather... I was at a family reunion yesterday and my aunts were showing old slides from their many trips to Canada, as well as a few older pictures of my grandmother when she was a child. I believe we had a couple pictures of my great grandpa Olaf in them, one by Reindeer Lake?
The date of my great grandmother Charlottes birth is probably 1906, not 1900, but that would be neat to know she lived to be 105 years old, my grandma would be really surprised. I will pass on your information to the rest of my family because they will know much more about this. My cousin told me today that there is a book written on Oluff Olson and his trip from Norway to Canada, but I may be a little off. Whatever the case, she doesn't have the book and she didn't make copies of it
but one of my grandmother's sister has it up in Canada and maybe I could get the title for you later. It is supposedly a pretty good read too! My dad has another book as well that briefly mentions my grandmother's family up in Reindeer lake area, but again, I don't remember the title. I will try to get that one for you as well. I believe that book even has a few pictures in it!
Something I should of done years ago. I was able to visit my grandfather's (Adolphe Lapensee) trading post site on the Cochrane river, a 2-1/2 hour boat ride from Brochet. His site was actually name after him. Le Pensie, MB
