Colleen: In one of your previous postings (Oct 2), you said your “Uncle Clarence who is 93 (b-1919) remembers her (Maggie THOMAS) helping deliver his younger brother Stanley (b-1921) in Matlock.”

Unless I have their birthdates incorrect, your Uncle Clarence was only two years old when his brother Stanley was born. I think he must have meant the delivery of your dad, Lawrence Peter (b-1930). Please verify these birthdates and let me know.

Also, tell me more about Barbara JENNER (b-1917) who died in Selkirk.

What i ment to say was my uncle Clarance remembers maggy (margrate) . He also remembers his mother telling him about maggy helping deliver his brother Stanley.

My page keeps getting deleted,must be something im doing , so here i am again typing it over for the 3rd time.
Barbara is a whole other story. She was b)1917 in England. Her father apparently died during the war. Mabel already had her before she met Peter Moore. I have tried to do some research on the Jenner side. I tried to find out Barb's fathers name but was not sucsessful. I have Mabel and Peter Moores marriage licence with her maiden name so i know she was not married befor, I also have Mabel's birth cert. So Barbara was my dad's half sister. I don't know if Peter ever adopted her but she went by Barbara Moore. I found the ships log when they came back from England and it said Mabel and Barbara Moore. I guess Peter had to go on the other ship bringing the soldiers home as his name wasn't on the same ship's log.
Barbara m) Jack Hucul and lived in Matlock for years until her husband thandied and she had to go to Winnipeg to find work. She passed away last year at the Selkirk hospital age 95.
Also to clarify Clarance will be 93 on Nov. 4.

Hi Gary,
My aunt Barb also told me the same story's as my Uncle Clarance,except she was older so remembers more detail. I was so glad to speak with them both before they got to old as none of this was talked about back in the day , my dad didn't even know half of these story's.

Hi Gary,
Just a note on Clarance Moore he worked for the HBC during the years 1946-1959 as a carpenter as well as my dad Lawrence was employed during 1946-1950 . Funny how HBC runs in the family. Not sure if they were paid through HBC or Rupersland.

Hi again Colleen: Sorry, I somehow missed your latest postings. I certainly haven't forgotten you! I’ve been so busy lately; getting flooded with queries from all kinds of people.

Thanks for all that extra information. Regarding your Dad working for the HBC in 1950. By that time Rupertsland was essentially a thing of the past. Believe it or not, I myself worked for the HBC at a fur trade post (Winisk) on Hudson Bay in 1956-57. See my family page: FAMILY PAGE FOR GARY STILL
