Re: GEORGE TAYLOR (1800-1844)

Research from the Borders Family History Centre in Scotland has turned up the baptismal record of George Taylor, Jr. in Hutton Parish, Berwickshire. He was baptized 11 January 1805 with his father's brother, Robert Taylor as sponsor. The baptismal record shows that he was born in March 1799. George ...

Re: GEORGE TAYLOR (1759-1844)

For JCorrigan,
I do own the picture of Captain Taylor's name at Sloop's Cove as well as one of my cousin, Frances, at the same location at an earlier date. I'd be glad to share either or both, how do I respond to you without posting my details? How are you related to the Taylors?

Re: GEORGE TAYLOR (1759-1844)

Could you tell me what the sources are which said 1838 as a death date? That should put it within the time in which England was registering vital records.

Re: GEORGE TAYLOR (1759-1844)

Since I cannot see Stephen Taylor Smith's email address on this forum, can I post my reply to him here? To wit, Stephen, please forgive me for not attributing the photo to you. On another topic, I am curious about the death date of George Taylor Sr. Which sources site 1838 and 1844? I think the 15 N...

Re: GEORGE TAYLOR (1759-1844)

The source is the Hudson's Bay Company Archives, Record Group B [post records]. B.198 indicates post journals for Severn and the full citation is B198/a/55 fos. 49d-50.
I also have a photo of Captain Taylor's sea chest. How do I post photos from my own computer?
