Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

Oh that's great. Thanks Gary. And now for Hannah.... I believe she was from the Nayassit family (the family name is still common in Waswanipi today) but I haven't yet got confirmation so I'll keep sleuthing. :P

Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

Sophia's last name was definitely Wenjack, not Winfrack (although it does look a little like Winfrack in Sam's bible). Her parents names were William and Charlotte. She had at least one sister (Sarah) and at least 4 brothers (James, John, Henry and Josiah). At least two of the brothers lived to adul...

Sophia's maiden name was actually Wenjack. I've got a copy of Sam's bible entries.

Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

Hi Selene, I met your mom many many years ago and your Uncle Martin lived with us for a while in Toronto when I was a kid. He was always one of my favourite relatives. I was so sorry to hear that your mom had died (she was far too young!) and very saddened to hear that Martin left us last year. We h...

Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

I've been corresponding with David Iserhoff's granddaughter and she tells me that her grandmother Minnie Solomon was from Fort Albany. Apparently this was David's 2nd marriage. His first was to a gal with the last name of Coaster from Marten Falls.

Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

My grandmother was born at Fort Albany in 1920. I'm afraid we'll have to wait for Selene to respond as to George's wife. Her name was Rosalind (went by Pat?) I believe but I'm sure Selene can verify.

Re: SAMUEL ROBERT ISERHOFF (1866-1951)

Yes indeed. My great grandparents were Fred & Annie and my grandmother is George's big sister, Minnie. George Samuel was named after his two grandfathers (George McLeod and Sam Iserhoff). :)
