Re: DONALD ROSS (1839-1878)
Hello, I want to thank Gary Still's family for maintaining this wonderful website that he created. I discovered through reading a thesis by Erin Millions- "By Education and conduct: educating trans-indigenous fur trade children...." that Annie McKenzie, the wife of Donald Ross Jr. is the d...

Re: WILLIAM RODERICK ROSS (1869-1928)
Thanks, Gary! The page on my grandfather looks great. He died before I was born. My mother has dementia and can no longer give me details about him. This is what I know… He was an amateur boxer. His profession was a geological engineer. He and my grandmother moved to Powell River so that he could ov...

Re: WILLIAM RODERICK ROSS (1869-1928)
Hi Gary, William Roderick Ross's family page looks great! Thank you! In the HBC record for Roderick Ross, Sr, it says that Roderick Ross was one of his children born April 1869. I was pretty sure that it was my great grandfather William Roderick Ross because he was also born in April (or late March)...

Re: DONALD ROSS (1798-1852)
I was planning to give you a donation towards the work that you'd done in creating this website about Red River ancestry. It's an amazing site. I don't know how a Family page differs from the pages that you've already done.

Re: DONALD ROSS (1798-1852)
Thanks. I didn't mean to imply that you were lying. I did the research about ten years ago and it was very rudimentary. I didn't know about the Archives Canada website. Thanks for the information. I will check it out.
Yes, my great grandfather, William Roderick married Leila Young.

Re: DONALD ROSS (1798-1852)
Hello, Could you please clarify this. Are you saying that you have found records in Archives Canada that refer to William Roderick Ross as a "half-breed?" ' And are there records where he claimed that Ann McKenzie is his mother? This is confusing because how could he be a "half-breed&...

Re: DONALD ROSS (1798-1852)
I am responding to a request for information about Donald Ross Jr.'s possible marriage to Annie McKENZIE, a daughter of Ann SPENCER and Samuel McKENZIE (1813-1879). My great grandfather, William Roderick Ross(1869-1928) was the son of Donald Ross, Jr., the son of Donald Ross (1798-1852). He was four...
