The English River book is the earliest NWC post journal in existence. Historians agree that this journal was written by Cuthbert Grant Sr. Your local library would be able to get a copy.

From Madeleine Racette and Francois Martin is daughter Julie (1815-after 1886) married Joseph Lemire (1811-after 1886). Their son Francois married Francoise Birston. Francoise Birston is the daughter of William Birston and Madeline Gonneville.

I was wondering if Madeleine Racette (1787-57) married to Francois Martin (1790-36) listed in Sprague & Frye Red River Household's 1818-70 is a daughter of Charles.
