Then the Fanny Thomas buried along side George Johnstone in St Andrews is neither F Thomas daugther of Thomas Thomas as she is buried in the US nor can she be Fanny Thomas, daughter of John Thomas since that woman is buried in Scotland. I have just asked the Glenbow archives to send me ...

Re: GOVERNOR THOMAS THOMAS (1765-1828)

)-#-Francois [sic] Thomas, Metis, born 1795 married to Andrew Stewart also married May 20, 1828 Red River a Henry Buxton born 1792 Europe (ID # 611).

this is from Thomas geneology on line

It suggests the Frances Thomas, who was d of John Thomas, married Buxton after Stewart died.

Re: GOVERNOR THOMAS THOMAS (1765-1828)

What is evidence that his daughter Frances (Fanny) married a man called Henry Buxton?

I had hoped she married my ancestor, George Johnstone.

Re: GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1797-1873)

Just noticed that you say George moved to Red River in 1831 when his wife Fanny was 24 years old. That also makes her date of birth 1807, too young to have married Stewart in 1813.
