Hi Gary
Please forgive me, but I find this sentence a little confusing.
"In 1845 both William’s mother (Marguerite) and his son William (age 19) died at Trois-Rivieres".
Is it suppose to be Richard's mother and his son Charles William?

Re: JOHN ROWAND (1787-1854)
Hi Guys Clay Balsillie deserves the credit for the picture of Louise Rowand. The inscription reads as follows: “Louise Rowand negative no. 65.104/4 PROVINCIAL ARCHIVES OF ALBERTA From Norma Balsillie Anderson Restored by john w balsillie 2009” Norma Balsillie Anderson is the daughter of Hugh Balsill...

Re: JOHN ROWAND (1812-1865)
Hi Edmonton Tom Thanks for the new info! John Rowand Jr. did acknowledge a son from a previous relationship named William in his will. He did not mention Jean so I wonder if Jean died before John Jr. wrote his will. As for the picture, I was also skeptical and use the other picture of him (as an old...

Re: JAMES ANDERSON (1827-1867)
Hi Gary William Lowe Monkman married Caroline Sinclair. All the birth registrations for their children list Caroline Sinclair as the mother. Is it possible she was adopted somewhere during Elizabeth Anderson-Derby’s travels? On another note: Fanny Anderson is the oldest daughter of James and Elizabe...

Re: JAMES SUTHERLAND (1777-1844)
Hi Gary I knew after reading this page, I needed to visit the HBC archives again. A couple of years ago, when I first started building our family tree I noticed a lot of people connecting Jane Flett wife of James Sutherland, as a daughter of William Flett (1762-1823) and Saskatchewan, and others con...
