Re: Searching line of Henry pruden B. 1878

Hi ACDewan Yes you are on the right track. First) Henry Pruden was born Aug 2, 1876 at Eagle Creek, Saskatchewan. This was found in his scrip affidavit: http://collectionscanada.gc.ca/pam_archives/index.php?fuseaction=genitem.displayItem&lang=eng&rec_nbr=1514115&rec_nbr_list=1514115,1514...

Re: JAMES CORRIGAL (1810-1887)

Gary Around 1850 eldest daughter Elizabeth married David HALCRO at St Andrews, son of Mary SUTHERLAND and Thomas HALCROW (1781-1854). Again, it is Mary “Southward Indian “ Halcrow (of unknown origins) and Thomas Halcrow (1781-1854). I am very sure if she was a Sutherland, Rev. John West would of mad...

Re: WILLIAM PRUDEN (1804-1844)

That’s the hiccup. There is no room in the time line for both John Pruden’s to be father and son. I have been following the John Pruden born in 1838. [Scrip affidavit for Pruden, John; born: 1838; father: Wm. Pruden; mother: Nancy Campbell; claim no: 2532; scrip no: 12114; date of issue: April 16, 1...

Re: WILLIAM PRUDEN (1804-1844)

Hi Gary, New Hic-up! I have been researching and researching John Pruden born to William Pruden & Nancy in 1838 over and over , coming to a very surprising conclusion! It is like the John Prodom and Bethey Slater’s family in the 1870 Manitoba census disappeared of the face of this earth. What I ...

Re: WILLIAM SMITH (1828-1884)

Hi Gary
According to what I have found, shortly after Joseph Smith died his widow Jane(Pruden) married his brother John James Smith on May 12, 1909. Then after John James Smith's death in 1921, Jane Pruden married John William Flett her third husband.

Re: ALFRED JOHN EVANS (1873-1941)

Icelanders are a very proud breed and keeping track of their heritage is very important to them. As long as we keep track of what happen here in Canada, the rest is very well document in Iceland.

Re: ALFRED JOHN EVANS (1873-1941)

Yes, please take the English use of surnames and throw it out the window. The best way to explain it is to use you as an example. You and all your brothers would have the surname Jamessson (James's son), your sister would have the surname Jamessdottir (James’s daughter). Your wife would have been El...
