Re: ALFRED JOHN EVANS (1873-1941)

Hi Gary I believe this statement is repeated:"In 1848 Christina’s father (John BELL) built Fort Confidence on Great Bear Lake as a wintering station for the Franklin Expedition led by Drs. John RICHARDSON and John RAE. At the completion of that expedition, BELL returned to his fur trade duties ...

Re: WILLIAM PRUDEN (1804-1844)
Gary Back in the day, Sprague & Frye were trying to do the impossible, using the info hidden in all the archives to build families without being able to use a computer to double cross ALL the entries. They did a stupendous job of getting most of it right, but there are a few things they would fi...

Re: DUNCAN CAMPBELL (1810-?)
Hi Gary
Duncan Campbell died July 31, 1884 in Selkirk. He and Nancy lived with Thomas and Eliza Fidler. Nancy was still living with the Fidler's in 1891.
Are you sure the picture is of this Duncan Campbell and wife? Duncan and Nancy would have been in their 60's in 1872.

Re: THOMAS HALCROW (1781-1854)
Hi Beth,
I believe Mary Halcrow's origins were south of the Dakota's, hence the "Southward" in her baptism. I am also impressed with the lack of racism in the Reverend's description of her! I have posted the image it on Ancestry and have also sent it to Gary.

Hi Gary,
Thanks to your Winnipeg Free Press story, I was able to figure out what happened to Grace Irene Harriott (1886). While she serving as an Over-Seas nurse during the First World War, she met and married Gordon Tickell in Derbyshire, England. Beth
