Re: WILLIAM ROBERT SMITH (1797-1869)
I'm Ken Lang. I've received the geneology material from Margaret Anne Inkster (1883-1971), Jean Gibson Lang (1930-2015), James Alexander Lang (1905-1987), Stuart Neil Lang (1935-1999), and Gail Inkster (1950-). I have 20 boxes of material to still process into Ancestry.CA and then send off to the Al...

Re: WILLIAM ROBERT SMITH (1797-1869)
I've been told (scolded) a number of times by old genealogists that there is no supporting material that shows William Robert Smith's father's middle name was "Hart". I must admit I've never found any, so I've removed it from my tree. One genealogist also said that William Robert Smith pro...

Re: JOHN INKSTER (1799-1874)
I think John Inkster (1799-1874) was actually christened on 29 Sep 1799. They often used the christening certificate as a birth certificate. Of course, my source may have miss typed the B: as a C:. John INGSTER (M)........ C: 29 Sep 1799 Father: John INGSTER Orphir, Orkney, Scotland Mother: Margaret...

Re: JAMES INKSTER (1773-1854) and Molly Nicholson
Rupert Lelsie Taylor, in his book "The Native Link: tracing one's roots to the fur trade" Chapter 2 - Young Adventurer, seems to be the first source to propose that our James Inkster is the same James Inkster that married Molly Nicholson on Jan 21 1796 in Houton, Orphir, Orkney, Scotland. ...

Re: JOSEPH MONKMAN JR (1836-1910) - Canadian Agent
What are the sources that say Joseph Monkman 1810-1899 was the Canadian Agent in 1870 Rebellion? The Manitoba Historical Society has listed this Joseph Monkman (1836-1910) as a Memorable Manitoban for his involvement in the 1870 Rebellion, not his father Joseph Monkman 1810-1899. I suspect it is far...
