Thank you for creating such a marvelous web-site. When I first started searching for my fur trade ancestors in earnest, a dozen years ago, this site popped up and I thought I had all that I needed right at my fingertips. I have become addicted and have quite a few more "dead relatives" than I ever imagined. So sorry that you have had a recurrence of cancer. Peace and blessing be upon you. Susan

Hi Gary, this site has been fantastic for gaining new information on some of my ancestry. I am saddened to hear of your terminal diagnosis, and was wondering if you have arranged a legacy contact to continue the site once you pass? It would be a shame if all of this fantastic work were to disappear down the road for lack of a continuing administrator.

RIP to a fellow traveller and a distant cousin. Thanking you (again) for all the work you did in bringing Metis history to life and recording our shared heritage.

RIP Gary. Thanks for all your hard work. This leaves a legacy for others to continue your work.

My only regret is not meeting you in person before you passed on...

Thank you to Gary's family for posting his memoirs which gives us an insight of the man who helped so many in furthering their family history. Sincere condolences to his family. I know I speak for many when I say that we are very appreciative of what he did for us and the legacy he has left behind. Rest in peace, Gary.
