An update on Donald Sutherland. He was born some time between 14th May and 20th June 1778 and died on 3rd December 1872 (Death Cert). His date of birth is calculated from the ages he gave at the time he signed each of his contracts. Pam (Miegunyah)

Gary, You say Sally Wapisk died in 1865. Would you mind telling the source of this information as I have not been able to establish any date of death for her. I would like to follow this up with perhaps the Archivisit of the parish where she died and this might tell me where she was living when she died. Also Donald was born in 1778 and died in 1872. Thank you, Pam

Sorry Pam: I made the changes in the Narrative but forgot to change my Link statements which I have now done. If you notice any other errors, please let me know.

Regarding the death date for Sally WAPISK: I probably got that from one of the websites I was searching but I can’t seem to re-find it. In any case it is more likely that she died before that because some of the census records show Donald as widowed much earlier. For now I will simply put a ‘?’ indicating that we just don’t know for sure.

I have done a further review and web searches regarding the descendants of Donald SUTHERLAND. I am finding a nightmare of confusing and conflicting information. It would be a daunting and time consuming task to try to sort out the various anomalies. However, because this is such an interesting subject, for a Donation I would be willing to work with anyone to develop a Special Family Page for John Macdonald WEIR. I have found some interesting pictures and information about him, but some of it needs further scrutiny. In that regard check this Link: More about Special Family Pages

Perhaps we can attract some of the other descendants to join in discussions to debate and try to solve some of the many puzzles and anomalies.

Thank you Gary. I agree with you there is a lot of misinformation out there about John Macdonald Weir and I don't want to muddy the waters further. I have done exhaustive research as I am his great granddaughter. Most if not all his descendants live in Australia and most are 'known' to me. My main interest now centers on Donald Sutherland and Sally Wapisk (Wapusk) and any descendants they may have had.

Pier House was built in 1828, the date is etched in stone on the front of the house. Kind regards Pam
