Super great Ross!
Now I need to find someone with a picture of the other class/room where I would have been.
I'm presently in Manitoba and have been visiting around gathering info and pictures. Check out my Gowen Family page. I visited Peter and got pictures of his family; even his grandfather Peter FIDLER

Gary:

I think the kid third from the left in the standing row is Jim Kirkness, not Al in the class photo caption. Jim is younger than me and Al is older.

Gary:

Perhaps Mrs. Kristin Smith should get more credit for her work at Mapleton School. Anyone who spends a couple of hours a day riding busses from her warm house in Winnipeg (I beleive the Fort Rouge area) to and from a little two room school with an outhouse for plumbing and a wind-up Victrola for audio-visual (without even a phone) for 20 Manitoba winters probably should have a statue and/or sainthood. What do you think?

In you post on Mapleton School Class of 51 Junior room you misspelled the name Gowen. Gow[e]n not Gowan.

More Mistakes posted on Mapleton School Class of 51 Kazook is actually spelled Kazuik. Mrs. Smith's name is Kristine not Kristin.

Oh oh, found another mistake. There was no Valerie McRae. It is Valerie Tataryn, or Charlotte McRae.
