I have a Alexander Moar married to Catherin living around Rainy river Ontario, I think this is around Kenora they had a son William born 1896, I also have another Alexander Moar married to Mary around the Dryden Ontario area it says this Alex was born 1871 and their children were Thomas and William, is this the same Alexander who had a few wives, I do know one of my Great uncles lived around that area, his name was John Moar who married Matilda Morriseau and their children were daughter Nancy who died young, the boys were Peter , Charley, Alexander and Robert maybe more , im working on that.

Matilda Morrisseau would have been my great aunt being the elder sister of my great grandfather William Morriseau (1859-1931), i really cant say who this Alex Moore was in my family tree, According to Nancy Moores Death Cert (1897-1924) she was born in the Kenora area her father being Alex was also born in the Kenora district, there was NO name given to her mother. Nancy Married my grandfather Elzear in 1917/18, their first child being Marjorie 1918

Their daughter Nancy's name would make sense since Alexanders grandmother's name was Nancy who married john Moore, Nancy and John also named a child Nancy but she died young and apparently the lake in Ontario is named after her Moars Lake ,the lake used to be called eagles lake.

I just posted a new page for your Grandparents, JC: GABRIEL BRUYERE (1879-1956)

As a matter of interest, I worked as a volunteer at the Algoma Archives at Sault Ste Marie for a few years (2004-2007) under Professor Don Jackson and Ed Sadowsky - the Shingwauk National Residential School Survivors Society where my sister-in-law (Yvonne) was their Interim Executive Director. I did a lot of scanning of photos and related documents regarding families of kids who used to attend the Shingwauk School.

To put things in perspective I have created a Page for JC’s Grandparents:
ELZEAR GEORGE McPHERSON (1898-1977)

I’m also reviewing my information for Matilda MORRISSEAU and John MOORE (b-1836) and will be posting that soon.

Hi there.
My mother had a family tree done several years ago, so I wanted to share what I know about Alexander Moore/Moar.
Alex Moore (Born: 1871) is my Great Great Grandfather. He's in my family tree as marrying Margaret Mabish (Born: 1872). Although, it does say Alex was married before 1901. Alex Moor and Margaret Mabish had a daughter Mary Jane Moore (Born: 1883).

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the same William Moore/Moar the dates seem close but in 1930's my grandmother received a letter from the Australian government to come and claim his estate. So as far as we knew he had no children. You can imagine trying to get to Australia from Manitoba in the 30's.
