Regarding Harriet Mae SETTEE: Thanks very much for that information Eileen. I have updated the narrative accordingly.

Regarding Clifford Edward SETTEE born May 16, 1912: According to Manitoba Vital Stats records, it was Charles Edward SETTEE who was born on that date. There is no record for a Clifford Edward in Vital Stats.

According to my information, Charles Edward SETTEE married Grace SUTHERLAND, daughter of Hazel ADAMS and Alexander James SUTHERLAND (1886-1970).

Thanks to your comments Eileen, I have done another review of my information and very fortunately came up with new census information for both 1916 and 1921 which adds more credibility to my previous comments. Check my latest updates.

Thanks again Eileen. I have accordingly made several adjustments to birth dates for Charles Gilbert’s children.

Regarding the Lineage of Charles Gilbert: Some of that information is suspect. We need more validation and source information.

Let’s work on one family at a time to avoid confusion, and keep comments under the Forum Topic indicated for each.

Regarding Reverend and his ancestors, first read this: REVEREND JAMES SETTEE (1809-1902)
Then post comments at this link: FORUM DISCUSSING the REVEREND JAMES SETTEE FAMILY

Next read: JAMES SETTEE JR (1836-1914)
Then post comments about his family at this link: FORUM DISCUSSING the JAMES SETTEE JR FAMILY

Thanks for the info on how to add. I am not sure what info to give you in what order and you helped me with that. I thought this morning that what i sent you is just the family tree info and maybe it should be more in a story line?

Sorry if I seem picky Eileen. I’m always trying to keep things organized. I definitely like to get all the facts correct even though I frequently make typos, etc myself, and appreciate it when people notice errors that need correcting.
My main objective is to try to present the narrative in chronological order of events. I always love it when people have interesting stories that can be added, as long as they aren’t too long.

Hi,

Just to let you know and correct the date of death of Elizabeth "Lizzie" Settee. She died in Ignace Ontario in July of 1961 (no day can be recalled by family members). She was buried next to the father of her children Charles Settee on Matheson Island. FYI: Charles and Elizabeth had 67 Acres of land on the Island and set aside Land to be used as a Cemetery. They are both buried there in the land they gave.

Thanks Eileen. I have made that change.
The ‘died Apr 3, 1967 in Mapleton’ came from Serena Willis on MetisGen in her JOHNSTONE genealogy.

Gary, I am being harassed by a woman who wants me to change my information because she says its wrong. Sher Marchant. She said she is going to Contact Red River Ancestry and have the information changed on Charles Gilbert Settee and Elizabeth Settee. She has no right. I am direct descendent being their granddaughter.
