I see that you make reference to Nancy Chaboyer, married to James Monkman in 1929.

Although we have always considered that Nancy was a "Chaboyer", the entry for her marriage, (we have a copy) shows it as "Shaboyer". Over the years we have found amost no other records with this spelling and conclude that the name was spelt phoentically.
Should anyone have any additional documentation showing Nancy "Chaboyer" we would be pleased to hear from you.

Our Chaboyer website is at http://members.shaw.ca/psmail. We regret that at the moment, the genealogy database is off line, for reasons explained on the site.

I have checked out your website, and as I reviewed my own research I found references I had made to your previous website. You have done an excellent job of tracing your ancestors. I have accumulated quite a bit of information on the CHABOYER-CHABOILLEZ families as well and for the most part what I have agrees with your information.

I believe Nancy CHABOYER who married James MONKMAN was very likely a child of Jessie Dunbar Selby BRUYERE & Charles CHABOILLEZ (1772-1812), the famous Nor’Wester who is described in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography at this link:

Unfortunately however, I haven’t found any documented evidence to support my belief.

I look forward to sharing information about these families in the future.
