James Goodlad would be my great grandfather. His daughter Sarah is my maternal grandmother. Sarah Goodlad married my grandfather Alexander Sutherland. Alexander Sutherland who was the son of George Sutherland who was the son of Alexander Sutherland son of John Sutherland. John Sutherland and Christy immigrated to Canada from Sutherland Scotland in abou 1826 with their family. They settled in the area of the Selkirk settlers.

I would love to connect with anyone who might have connections with my family.

I have just posted a new family page that should help you in your quest. Here’s the Link:

GEORGE SUTHERLAND (1841-1906)

Please continue discussions about your SUTHERLAND relatives under the Topic indicated there.

Also note that I have updated and completed the page for James GOODLAD; check it out.

James Goodlad is also my great grandfather as well...my maternal grandmother being his daughter Anna "Bella" (Alcorn). I have quite a lot of information on the Goodlad/Turner family that I would be more than happy to share with anyone who is interested.

Is that the Bella b-1892 who married John ALCORN b-1891, son of Florence Maria BARBOUR and James ALCORN (1860-1936) who was born in Harvey, AB and died Apr 25, 1936 in Barnard, Vermont, USA?

If so, I will add that to the James GOODLAD Page.

Thanks very much Etomami (Is that your first name?)

After (more) carefully re-examining the census records, I found several errors and discrepancies and found some new information, and I have made several changes in the James GOODLAD Family Page. Please review it and let me know if this agrees with your information.

Also, if you have new or better information regarding the other associated Family Pages (Links are provided), please let us know as well.
