Hi there, I am new to this forum. I am interested in any info on Thomas Halcro Sr. And his wife Mary. I have seen discussions about her as a Sutherland, daughter of James. Not sure about this as she is not listed in his will. I read it, it is online Glenbow Archives. Yet, I have also seen online references with him mentioning an eldest daughter "Mary" but I am not sure where the quote comes from.
I believe the name Sutherland is questionable. I have also seen Mary called a "southward Indian". I believe this was language describing particular Crees-a locality. I am in the USA and I have had this ancestor on my mind for years, not sure why. Happy to see my family online, hoping to solve mysteries and correct the lineage. if anyone has any info, records etc please forward them. I would appreciate it greatly. I carry this mystery ancestor in my heart.

Welcome to the Forum Sherri!
Please tell us more about your parents, grandparents, etc (with dates) so we can see where you fit into this lineage.

Hello. I am trying to find information about my grandmother. We didn't know her at all and my older sister said her name was Greta May Dubord(?). We've been looking for quite a while and found out she was born Greta May Halcro in Northern Saskatchewan. She married my grandfather in 1926 in Winnipeg I think. We have since learned that she and some or all siblings were removed from their home in (we assume), Halcro Settlement. We think her father's name was Archibald Halcro. My grandfather's name was William Herbert Gunn and he was born in Winnipeg (or Kildonan). Anything anyone might know I would really appreciate any information. Thanks in advance.
