Hello Gary

I was looking into it apparently he was married the first time (question who is Martha)

I found that Peter married Rita quite late in life (30 year difference between them) and that Peter had my great uncle when he was like 70.

Anyways I am talking to them now and asking questions!

Yes, I did receive that information Cassandra. Thanks very much.

That’s a huge amount of information and it will take me a while to study it all. If you find any info in that genealogy that differs from my narrative, please let me know.

I will add a couple of those pictures later. Will that be ok to do?

Thanks Gary,

I am glad you received it, as you can tell my Cousin did a lot. She got to interview Gilbert (who lived with his Grandparents) before he passed away. Using the Photos should be fine.

I will keep hunting down more stuff

I found a few more things that goes up the Tree, Through Sophia Erasmus to Peter Erasmus SR, he was born in Denmark 1794, fought in the Battle of Waterloo, Came to Canada married Catherine Budd (her tree takes up to Matthew Cocking) Died 1849.

Sophia was the Sister of Peter Erasmus Jr who wrote a book called "Buffalo Days and Nights" (I ended up buying it) he was quite famous in settling Canada West. In fact his house is at Fort Edmonton Park.

Anyways Thanks again Gary I am keeping you quite busy!

I finally got around to adding those pictures of Maria & Tom DESMARAIS.

I am finding it very difficult to research those other DESMARAIS ancestors; very complex. It is very difficult to sort out all those weird Indian names associated with these families, and I’m finding a lot of conflicting and confusing information. I’m still working it but it will probably be a long time before I can put something credible together.

P.S. I also have that book “Buffalo Days and Nights”. I refer to it often.
