It lists James Morrison Jr.'s mother as Mary Turner, and also his wife as Mary Turner. Is this correct? If so, his mother Mary Turner was the child of which other Turner?

Thanks for the wake-up Jennifer – good work – That was my error. James MORRISON’s mother was actually Frances SANDERSON (as shown on the Page for James Sr.) and I have made the correction.
I must admit, I am notorious for making such errors and typos, and I need someone like you to keep me on my toes. Thanks a lot.

Is this James Morrison the same James Morrison who married Mary Harriet McLeod (Alexander McLeod and Jane Turner's daughter- as seen on Alexander McLeod's page)? Would she not be Mary McLeod, then?

The source for that marriage came only from WDM in the Carr Family on Ancestry.ca, and it does look questionable. WDM does not show any birth date or origins for this James MORRISON.

Just a note to say that I have received DNA results that connects me to WDM, a descendant of Jane Turner and Alexander McLeod. My connection is through Mary Turner and James Morrison. Jane and Mary were sisters and the daughters of Joseph Turner (1783-1865) and Emma Good. My great grandmother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Parry (Morrison), the daughter of Mary Morrison (Turner) and James Morrison.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Parry (Morrison) was first married to Augustus George Beck. She can be found with her children from that marriage in Chapleau, Ont. in Canadian census records. Subsequently she married John Henry Parry and gave birth to two more children, one being my maternal grandmother. Elizabeth Parry, my great grandmother, died and was buried in Lemberg, Saskatchewan. Her husband, John Henry Parry, my great grandfather, died shortly thereafter and was buried in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

I am hopeful that I will make DNA connections to Philip Turnor (1751-1779) and descendants of Elizabeth Bear.

I have submitted another DNA sample requesting a full sequence testing of the mitochondrial DNA. I am using MyHeritage and FTDNA at this time.

If I understand the science and what I can expect from the results, I should be able to confirm the records that connect me to and through the spouse of Joseph Alexander Turnor (1783-1865), father-in-law of James Morrison (1818-1895), to the wife of Richard Good... maybe.
