Hello gnstill!
Thank you so much for answering me so quickly. This new special family page is awesome. I would be very interested in anything you have on Michael Wagner, who married Elizabeth Swain in 1861, June 20th, St. Andrews, Manitoba. I am able to find out about the maternal side of the family (Swain), and would love any more information that you may have as well. I am unable to find any information about Michael Wagner. Who his father was is illusive. One Census that I saw had his father's name as Panedie Wagner? very hard to tell by the hand writing if this is correct or not. Also cannot find where he died, or any info as such.
I would very much appreciate any and all that you have to share. I knew my Great Grandma Matilda Wagner Bentley and her husband, William Bentley quite well as I grew up and love them dearly. They had 14 children, and their 5th son, Jack, born in Pembina in 1902, was my grandfather. I would also like to find out some information on Matilda's siblings, Jose, a sister she talked about, and the rest of them, as well. All I know is that Josie died in Duluth and I cannot find a last name for her. She had daughters that may still be living, and we would like to get in touch. I do have a picture of Josie and her girls together and that is all. She was not young in this picture, probably in her 60's and she was supposed to have been 91 years of age when she died. I think she was a year older, or younger than Matilda. Josie might have been a nickname, as there doesn't seem to be a child by that name on the census in 1880. Michael was on the census as younger than Matilda and we knew him as well. But no mention of any of the other siblings. There was a big span in the ages from 18 down to 1. Thanks so much gnstill!!! I look forward to hearing from you. Colleen (:

I have created a short (need more info) Family Page for your great-great grandparents at this link:
ELIZABETH SWAIN & MICHAEL WAGNER (1826-?)
I look forward to your comments under that Topic.

The BENTLEY Family is still not on my Priority List so it may be some time before that gets worked on.

Hi my name is Phyllis Racette and my husband Larry Racette. Charles Racette is my husband's 4x Great Grandfather. His Great Grandfather William Racette's father was Charles Racette who was married to Helene Boyer. The last piece of information we have of Charles Racette is that he is living in the Red River Settlement, or St. Francois Xavier. I am wondering if anyone knows where he was buried? And, also where his wife Josephte Saulteaux Racette was buried and when she died? My husband's grandfather was Jean Marie Racette and he spoke often of Charles Racette III. He told stories to my husband of having relatives in St. Francois Xavier and Winnipeg. William Racette (October 15, 1857, St. Boniface, Mb) lived to be 100 years old or more. He is listed as being part of the rebellion in Batoche. The Racette descendents of Charles Racette live in Ebb and Flow and Sandy Bay, Manitoba from William Racette. They have become Treaty along the way. He also married 4 x to Betsy Bourassa, Madeleine Richard, Melanie Beaulieu and Marie St. Paul. We are planning to write the story of the Racettes descending from Charles Racette 1766 - 1833. The younger Racettes of Ebb and Flow and Sandy Bay need to know the story of Charles Racette, the eccentric Freeman of the Northwest Territories who was part of the fur trade. Thanks so much for any info!

Thanks Phyllis. I now have information on Larry’s complete lineage, from him back to the elder Charles RACETTE.
A reminder: I do special Family Pages for people who make donations. More about that at this link:

Thank you Sir,

I do plan on donating and getting a family page done. I just found some information last night as well on George Racette Junior that confirms his actions in the 1860's/1870's. http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2 ... Rsk_UebMz2 I know newspapers didn't always reveal the true nature of a human, so I take the article as being only one opinion of this fine man. He was often spoken of in stories by Jean Marie Racette and called him the "Thunderbird Man." I do believe without a doubt that he was the builder of the 'Thunderbird Nest" at the Narrows of Lake Manitoba. Thank you for taking interest in the Racette Family.

Marie Louise Adam - d/o of Angelique Racette - d/o of Charles Racette 1766-1833

you have given a birth of 1813 for Louise , I have found the following suggesting a date of 1819
- Children of Joseph Adam and Angelique Racette were as follows: 2 i. Marie Louise Adam, born circa 1819 Red River; married Jeremie Cardinal. 3 ii. Joseph Adam, born 1 Mar 1825; married Archange Ouellette. 4 iii. Genevieve Adam, born 2 Aug 1832; married Isidore Arcand; married Joseph Stanley. 5 iv. George Adam, born 1833 St. Boniface; married Angelique Desjarlais.
