What is evidence that his daughter Frances (Fanny) married a man called Henry Buxton?

I had hoped she married my ancestor, George Johnstone.

)-#-Francois [sic] Thomas, Metis, born 1795 married to Andrew Stewart also married May 20, 1828 Red River a Henry Buxton born 1792 Europe (ID # 611).

this is from Thomas geneology on line

It suggests the Frances Thomas, who was d of John Thomas, married Buxton after Stewart died.

Regarding Frances THOMAS (daughter of Sarah & Thomas THOMAS) who married Henry BUXTON (1792-1870), click on this Link: HBCA BIO REGARDING HENRY BUXTON

According to this Bio, that Frances died 1843 in Oregon.

Thanks alot.

Then the Fanny Thomas buried along side George Johnstone in St Andrews is neither F Thomas daugther of Thomas Thomas as she is buried in the US nor can she be Fanny Thomas, daughter of John Thomas since that woman is buried in Scotland.

I have just asked the Glenbow archives to send me the entries for George and his wife from the Denny papers, hopefully that will reveal all.

George: You need to re-check this: GEORGE JOHNSTONE (1797-1873)

There you can see where Fanny and George both died in Red River; Fanny in 1869, George in 1873. They’re both buried in the Old St Andrews Church Cemetery.

Please post further discussions in that regard under the preset Topic for George JOHNSTONE

Hello Gary! I too have found Thomas Thomas Jr. confusing. My Gr. Grandmother, Maria, married to Morrison West(Waste), was the daughter of Thomas Thomas & Jane, (I thought). Maria & Morrison were married Jan. 6, 1854, St. Peter's. Thomas Thomas & Jane were married Oct. 8, 1834. (The children, of course, came before they were married.)
However, there was also a Maria, born to Thomas Thomas & Harriet Stewart. My Grandmother, Rachel Harriet West, daughter of Maria & Morrison, was married to Samuel Stevenson. So, do I believe that Maria was Jane's daughter or Harriet's, I just don't know.
I have an extract of baptisms by Cochrane in 1834, in the Territories of the Hudson's Bay Company, from Cathedral Registers, which shows the two Thomas' & Maria & Harriet, baptized as Adults.
Merrily

Merrily: As I have indicated at the bottom of the narrative, it is still uncertain which one of the Thomas THOMASes was actually the son of Governor THOMAS.

The Thomas who married Harriet STEWART is identified in Sprague & Frye as a Thomas THOMAS (parents not identified), a Half-breed born in 1820; his wife Harriet STEWART born 1822. This union is clearly verified in the Scrip of at least one of his children, Juliet Jane THOMAS who was born in 1845 and married William LOGAN, son of Mary Anne DEASE and Thomas LOGAN (1812-1882).

Thought to add to your info on the family of Governor Thomas Thomas. My Mother's great great grandparents were William Thomas and Eleanor Bunn. Great grandparents William Thomas and Isabella Harriet Dahl. Isabella died after bearing 2 boys. One was my Mother's grandfather Edward James Thomas and the other his brother William Dahl Thomas.
