Hi G,, just wondering.....

According to the 1870 census (st Peters) records of Manitoba Samuel Stevenson age 80 states his father was John Stevenson..
in the same census William states his father was a John Stevenson, i figure this is the John Stevenson born 1789, and the other John was born around 1756 ( from Orkney)

Also William Stevenson born 1821, married Marie Spence, states his father was William stevenson .

William Stevenson born 1824, Married Elizabeth Murray 1844, states his father was R. Stevenson,

Also according to the Kipling records a William stevenson married a Mary on 1837-02-08

just wondering if its possible ALL of these men are related...

I have been agonizing over the genealogy for Samuel and John STEVENSON and their descendants for many years. Because of the uncertainties, puzzles and confusion involved I have so far hesitated to post anything about them.
Perhaps now is the time to tackle the problem. I am going to review all my information and will try to post something about them in the next day of so as a basis for further debate and discussion.
Where did you find information about the John STEVENSON born 1756 in Orkney? I seem to have missed that one.
