LILLEY-MORIN-GRANT BLOODLINE

Post by dlilly81 » Sat Feb 21, 2015 1:43 pm

I would like to see the Lilley, Lilly, Lillie bloodline added to Red River Ancestry.ca. My grandfather was Louis Lilley (1881-1963). He was born at St. Francis Xavier (Grantown). His father was James Lilley Sr. (1842-1919), son of Daniel Lillie (1790-18?) from Ipswich, England (U.K). Daniel worked for the HBC at Moose Factory,ON. He married a Cree woman from there named Mary Anne Richard, and after his retirement moved to St. Paul's Middle Church at the RRS. James Lilley Sr. a.k.a "Mosum Bucky" was married to Marie Catherine PERREAULT dit MORIN 1846-1922, whose paternal grandparents were Francois PERREAULT dit MORIN and Marie Grant (d. 1845). Marie Catherine Morin (LILLEY) maternal grandparents were Jean Baptiste MALATERRE (1780-1853) and Angelique Adam (1796-1856). Jean Baptiste Jr. was killed by the Sioux at the Battle of the Grand Couteau (1851). Marie Catherine Morin's mother was Marguerite MALATERRE, the sister of Marie MALATERRE. Making my great grandmother and Marguerite MONET dit Belhumeur (LOUIS RIEL JR.) first cousins. Most of these Lilley ancestors are buried at St. Francis Xavier RC cemetery or at the Pioneer Cemetary at Sandy Lake, Manitoba. All of these records have been confirmed by research through The Metis Heritage and Culture Centre in Winnipeg and also through Mary Conway's research "The Lilley Family History: A Manitoba Metis Genealogy" Conamary Publications, 2002.

Thanks David, but you’re getting a bit ahead of me. This stuff takes a lot of time and work.

I have just posted the Page for Dan LILLIE at this link:
DANIEL LILLIE (1780-1858)

Please continue discussions under that Topic, at this link:
FORUM DISCUSSING the DANIEL LILLIE FAMILY

My next job is a Page for your great grandfather James LILLIE b-1842. Will take some time, but please wait for that one.
