Fact: Jane (nee McNab) Sanderson, wife of Robert Sanderson, claimed on 18 Aug 1875 that Isabella Sanderson, her niece, was the mother of Frederick James Sanderson, born 4 Jun 1862 in St Paul Parish, and that his father was unknown.
This Isabella Sanderson is NOT Isabella (nee Sanderson) Inkster.

Reasoning: 1) Isabella Inkster is not her neice. She is Robert Sanderson's first cousin.
2) Frederick was born in St Paul, but Isabella Inkster was in Poplar Point, a long ways away at the time.
3) Jane would have called her Mrs Isabella "Inkster" not Sanderson.

Thanks very much for clearing that up Ken! I have revised the narrative accordingly. Hope I didn’t miss anything.

Thanks Gary. I think my tone on the last message was too strong. I was rushed for time and pushed the send button before I had a chance to refine my wording. I'm not use to working in a forum.

Thank you for all your work on John Inkster. It looks great and I'm honored for the reference.

Just wanted to note a correction needed on a date:

Sometime after 1860 daughter Matilda married Duncan McPHAIL (1833-1894) from Scotland, son of Mary and Angus McPHAIL (b-1786)

I assume Angus McPHAIL died in 1886 or he would have died long before his son Duncan was conceived.

The info on Angus McPhail is sketchy. From the 1870 Manitoba Census, we know that Duncan McPhail's father was Angus McPhail but we don't have any supporting material, other than other family trees, to say Angus McPhail was born in 1786. The 1870 Census says Duncan McPhail was born in 1836 in Louis Island, Scotland. I suspect this means Isle of Lewis.

Hello I am an Inkster taking up my fathers search but as I go thru his record and reading this page I’m finding discrepancies in my fathers work. Can you look it over and clear any of up? I know there
were two sets of inksters so I’m not sure if he got confused on any of it.
i have a picture of the tree he made but cannot post it here. Can I possibly email it to you?

Welcome to the Forum Rhonda! At this point I have no clues as to who were your parents, grandparents, etc, and when and where they were born. So please yes, send me your Inkster Tree by email.
