Thanks so much for the donation George; very much appreciated.

I have just posted a Family Page for CHRISTIE at this link:
GOVERNOR ALEXANDER CHRISTIE (1792-1872)

The related Forum Topic there is a good place for debating the origins of his wife Ann THOMAS.
My narrative is rather sketchy because his story is so well documented already. My only interest is in his familial relationships.

I, too, am descended through George Johnstone. Just taking a few days to poke around in St. Andrew's and photographed the grave of he and Fanny. My line is as such:

George Johnstone (Francis Thomas) --> William Johnstone (Amelia Brown) --> Thomas Johnstone (Beatrice Mary Deacon/Deakin) --> Clara Johnstone (Reginald Charles Fuller Nelson) --> . Gilbert Reginald Nelson (Diane Margaret Morris) --> Myself, Rebecca Nelson (Michael Chambers)

William Johnstone/Amelia Brown were issued scrip, though were opposed to the Red River Rebellion. I have a transcribed account of their married life via their daughter Agnes (Aunt to my grandmother Clara).

Nice to meet you, cousin.

Nice to hear from you too. BTW have you any info on whether Fanny was a daughter of the other Thomas Thomas ---the one buried in St Pauls not Quebec?

All of my research suggests Fanny is the wife of George Johnston (1785-1873). They have a shared headstone at St. Andrews listing his 'beloved wife Francis'. My records show she is descended from John Thomas 1784-1816 per a genealogy done by the Manitoba Metis Federation.
