Re: WILLIAM IRVINE (1843-1918)
I was born in Fort Norman, my grandfather Charles Timothy Gaudet and great grandfather Charles P Gaudet worked for the HBC in that area, Fort Good Hope , Fort Norman, Fort Wrigley just to name some. I was born in Fort Norman in 1955 and went to school there till the summer of 1967. I do remember a grave by the old Hudson Bay store, always wondered if it was one of my dad's brothers or sister. I recently got an email suggesting it is a Mrs Irvine. Now if I had an email, I can forward the story to somebody. its from a book written by Charles Camsells, I belive. Arnold G Gaudet

I am not anyone official, but I would be interested in more information! William Irvine was my great grandfather, and his wife died in Fort Norman. There is a gravestone in Sk for her, but that doesnt mean that her body was transported necessarily. Please send me a note at m.defeo@hotmail.com

Hello Arnold Gaudet and Mary Defoe,
Like Mary, I too am a gr-granddaughter of William 'B' Irvine and his wife Margaret (Pritchard) Irvine. I am from descended from their youngest daughter Dora Everest (Irvine) Gerrond and their granddaughter (my mother) Olive Jacqueline (Gerrond) Blanchard. I would love to see the information you have about the possible location of Margaret's grave as I am sure would Mary.
Many thanks for posting this potential lead.

Re: WILLIAM IRVINE (1843-1918)
Btw Arni, I have seen some HBC records for my gr-grandfather, William Irvine 'B'. The 'B' is not an initial but the way HBC identified him as there was another William Irvine employed by HBC at the same time. There is also a William Byass Irvine who was somewhere in that area at the same time and he has been misidentified as an ancestor by some in our family until Mary Defeo (my 2nd cousin) figured things out for us. I have our William's HBC records in his profile on my Ancestry.ca family tree.
