Hi there,
My name is Christine Flett.
I am so lost in this search that i was hoping that someone, anyone would be able to help me.
My grandfathers name was Clarence Nedwin Flett,
DOB -1932, December 18 and am told he was from Smith siding , Manitoba
(m.Irene Alma Juenke April 4/ 1954)
His parents were
William Flett
and Elisabeth Flett (not sure of her maiden name but i believe it was Smith)
Both are buried in St. Andrews cemetery, in St. Andrews Manitoba
(Other children of the above are Gordon, Walter, Edith ( Kaufman), Isobel (Peters), Sid, Roland, Al, Alice, Myrtle, Ethel and Marjorie
I know that Archibald Flett who was born in 1827 is in a direct line but... But this is where i get lost. I know Archibald had two brothers- John who was born 1825 and also James who was born 1829.
Im just trying to see how far back I truly go. Does any one have info to fill in these gaps?
WILLIAM FLETT (1762-1823)

Welcome to the Forum Christine!
Just for starters, I have a William FLETT who married in 1916 to a Mary Elizabeth SMITH in St Clements Parish.
Do you have more about the brothers Archibald, John and James FLETT, like their wives' maiden names, etc?

Hi there.
I found some info but no specific date just years,
Elizabeth Flett (born Smith) 1894 - 1954
William Flett 1887 - 1964 according to the plot at St Andrews church, St andrews Manitoba.
Also seen at this location only a 10 feet away was Margaret Flett August 28 ,1870 - January 27, 1951 ... i did see at the foot of Margaret's grave marker another marker with the name Frederick James Flett DOB Feb 2, 1910 to DOD March 1, 1993
Which again has me confused am i following two different families?
I didnt see Archibald's grave there
Am i on the right path to be connecting these names to that of the William from Orkney?

I'm double sorry for all my previous screw-ups. I think I finally have this Page correct, after a third revision.

I think I got the term “Betsy” a long time ago; can’t even find where I got it. In any case, to avoid such confusion I am removing it from the narrative all together.
Re: WILLIAM FLETT (1762-1823)
Correction:
"In 1834 youngest son Peter married Euphemia HALCROW at St Johns, daughter of Mary SUTHERLAND* and Thomas HALCROW (1781-1854), a retired HBC Blacksmith who became Red River Colonist."
* should read Mary a Southward Indian
I knew we missed a correction. This page was rewritten so many times back in the day.
