David Taylor, son of James Taylor, was my great grandfather. Thank you for your posting on the Taylor Family - you've added history that I wasn't aware of. The Metis geneology is fascinating.

Welcome to the Forum Barbara!
Are you perchance a granddaughter of Minnie TAYLOR and John Murray INMAN (1887-1967)?

Yes, they were my grandparents, though Minnie passed away when my mom, Florence, was only 11 yrs old. My mom is the last remaining member of that line in the family. Fortunately, she shared many stories about her childhood before she developed dementia, and I have fond memories of the stories my uncles used to share at family gatherings. The Taylors/Inmans were known for their storytelling and their love of entertaining, whether through music or humor.

Thanks very much Barbara. Can you tell us more about your MILLER ancestors?

Please Note: I just made corrections to the JAMES TAYLOR PAGE regarding your Great Grandfather David TAYLOR. After further review I determined that David did not have any previous wives or relationships before he married Elizabeth Ann SPENCE in 1874. Do you have any other information in that regard?

Sorry for the delayed response....was away from my printer and wanted to attach a family history for Minnie Taylor but can't copy and paste....any suggestions?
BTW I'm not aware of any Miller family connections. And too bad David Taylor wasn't a philanderer....my friend, a Hallett descendant, and I had a chuckle to think our families were connected.

I received your Email attachment Barbara; thanks. Unfortunately it came in a rather scrambled and unreadable fashion. Doesn’t matter anyway – I already have lots of information on David TAYLOR, Minnie TAYLOR and John Murray INMAN (1887-1967). I was mainly interested in who the MARTIN family was that connected to Florence INMAN.

Sorry the email was scrambled....geneologies are in so many different formats, hard to share.
The Martin family is not Metis, moved to Mb in early 1900's from Ireland....my former husband's family.

Thanks for your website, interesting to read the family pages.

Regards,
Barbara

Where do I start? My cousin and I recently dove head first into our ancestry.
Although we always knew we had a connection to the Taylors, I didn't think I could trace it back this far.

My mother was (recently passed) Mary Lynne Filgiano, daughter of Eleanor Taylor Mack and Francis Thomas Filgiano. (grandparents)

Eleanor Taylor Mack was the daughter of Mary Isabel Taylor and E. E. Mack. (great grandparents)

Mary Isabel Taylor was the daughter of Alex Taylor (metis) and Mary Isabelle McDonald. (great great grandparents)

Alex Taylor was the son of James Alexander Taylor and Mary Inkster (native). (great great great grandparents)

So, the question is, I know where Mary and Alex Taylor are buried, but where is James Alexander Taylor buried?

Most sources indicate that Alexander TAYLOR (b-1842) died on Aug 14, 1910 in Bresaylor, Saskatchewan, in which case he was probably buried in the Bresaylor Cemetery.
