William Garrioch 1779-1849 states that Nancy Cook's husband "must have died before 1810".
James Sutherland jr and Nancy must have split as he married Elizabeth Calder on 21 may 1829. Also, James Sutherland jr died 13 August 1844 and was buried at St. Andrews
