I'd like to add a couple corrections:
1. Regarding burial of Cuthbert Grant:
According to St Francois Xavier Death Register, Cuthbert was “buried in the church, along the wall on the side of the epistle".......not under the altar. It is not customary in Catholic Churches to bury people under the altar

2.Regarding two of the sons, who for some reason were merged into one person in the "Family Details" section:
Charles Grant, born around 1823, married to Euphrosine Gladu
Charles Cuthbert Grant, 1835 to 1909, married to Marie Gingras

I understand that your husband is a descendant of Jean Baptiste DESJARLAIS b-1836, son of Catherine ALLARY and Antoine DESJARLAIS (1795-1864). Can you give us more information on his lineage from there?

In the Family Details section of Cuthbert Grant you have his daughter Nancy born in 1832 and marrying Charles Azure. This Nancy died in 1834 according to http://www.genealogysearch.org/canada/stfxman/g-ke.html transcribed below.

GRANT Nancy, daughter of GRANT Cuthbert, Esq.; McGILLIS Marie
d. 1st, s. 2 Aug 1834, 2 years and 5 months old old
Witnesses: Antoine Lafreničre and Jean Baptiste Gariepi. Angus McGillis.

The Nancy Anne that married Charles Azure was born about 4 March 1823. She is in the 1893 US Indian Census Rolls married to Charles Azure, Sr. Charles is listed as 77 years old, and Nancy as 70 years old. She is listed on this Cuthbert Grant page as being married in 1842, and her oldest daughter was Pauline, born in 1844. The 1832 birth date is obviously a little off for this marriage.

Cuthbert Grant was my gggg-grandfather. I am a descendant of his daughter Marie and Pascal Breland.
